Strong Bad Email Viewer 5.0

/oldarchives/strongbad-thumb.jpg

Charlie the Fat Guy, you have created a singularly cumbersome and unlickable heap of compost. You shall be visited shortly by a solitary orangutan (because one orangutan is one too many) and flogged extensively with a frenetically vibrating 9.8.

What's the point in making pointless comments about useless software? Woe is me, I feel like a dirty old ass in a sea of used toilet paper. Anybody want to send me a $100 (U.S. dollars only) to make me feel better so I can go on. If I had a $100, I will go on just like it says in the Titanic theme song.

Hey Charlie asks for donations for his crap, so I, being a shithead, most certainly deserve your support.

A one that is not cold is hardly a one at all.

Posted by: SB on June 8, 2003 11:43 AM

Eh. I'm inclined not to hate this, actually. "click the update button, your file is missing" is a strange and alarming error message, to be sure, but it works as advertised and isn't brushed metal.

The real solution would be the folks at homestarrunner figuring out how to publish an RSS file...

Posted by: Ross on June 8, 2003 08:47 PM

He's just pissed that Strong-Bad is funnier.

Hell, a calendar of Bush quotes would, um, actually sell whereas this site...

Posted by: erk on June 8, 2003 09:48 PM

Hmm, I would have thought that there already was a perfectly functional StrongBad Email Viewer.. it's called the Flash plug-in...

Posted by: F. Zappa on June 9, 2003 07:21 AM

And Zappa wins the grand prize -- two nights and twelve days in Dupree's Paradise, a year's supply of Nutella, and a fast and bulbous squid!

The rest of you can go home now.

Posted by: naomi on June 9, 2003 10:06 AM

Hey Zappa. You gonna eat that Nutella?

Posted by: The Valrus on June 9, 2003 11:00 AM

Well, yes.. in a manner of speaking...

Posted by: F. Zappa on June 9, 2003 05:06 PM

Why, oh God, why do people love fucking homestar runner so much? Did the viewing audience of Full House finally all get cable modems?

Posted by: bobo on June 9, 2003 07:32 PM

If I were to guess I would say it's because

1) it's fucking funny
2) they build on "throwaway" jokes (Homsar, teen girl squad, Trogdor, etc.)
3) great character design
4) it's one of the few Flash sites that uses the medium well
5) they post new content on a regular basis

That said, I wish they would do more full-length cartoons and not lean as much on the Strongbad emails, but that's OK.

Thanks, project canceled.

P.S. You would think someone who calls himself "the fat guy" would have a sense of humor, but I do not. Strong Bad is the only thing that is funny to me. How can we laugh at a world so full of pain? When will the babies stop dying?

P.P.S. The editors of this site will no doubt alter my comments to make me seem funny.

Posted by: CharlieTheFatGuy on June 9, 2003 08:19 PM

Don't you people have anything better to do than to trash someone else's free work?

Losers.

Posted by: Zeke on June 9, 2003 09:05 PM

This seems so pointless

Posted by: Esri on June 9, 2003 10:55 PM

Poor, poor Charlie. Do not cancel -- make good!

Poor, poor Zeke. We do not trash sucky software because we have nothing else to do. We trash it because we can!

Poor, poor Esri. It's all pointless, and nobody loves us. Let's go into the garden and eat worms.

Posted by: naomi on June 9, 2003 11:11 PM

Dear Naomi,

Please stop calling me Strong Bad. I am neither strong, nor bad, in any sense of the words, and furthermore, I don't know who the hell you are. Along with your nasty email, you have sent me 3 attachments and two prairie dogs that are all infected by the monkeypox virus. My only question is this: why can't I use the word CLIT on this site?

Fondles, Sinbad

P.S. The editors of this site are totally unethical. They care nothing for the feelings of inept software developers and they eat baby animals. I love them.

Posted by: Sinbad on June 10, 2003 12:07 AM

This program needs a little work, but I think its a great start. It needs to be able to sort the toons by date. Also, it seems to halt halfway into the cartoon I'm watching on my machine. But I definitely like seeing the toons at full screen on my computer. Also, it seems to be able to play all the other flash movies on the homestar site as well.

Posted by: Hemilonius on June 10, 2003 01:06 AM

This is a great app. Stupid Perversiontracker. The error that you got isn't typical. There are at least twelve more errors to choose from. Too bad that you're wrecking this project. ASSHOLES!!! Full screen Strong Bad e-mail is the best. I am secretly in love with you. Please do not take my comments seriously.

[Note: the editors of this site will no doubt alter the meaning of my original post just to annoy me.]

Posted by: Strong Bad on June 10, 2003 07:43 AM

Strong Bad:

The error we got isn't the only reason we dislike it.

Best,
-Jan

Posted by: Jan on June 10, 2003 11:46 AM

Then, justify your position Jan. There is no explanation for your dislike of the app. You have lost any credibility. Your sight was amusing at first, now you all just suck.

The best feature is seeing the Strong bad e-mails in Full Screen mode. Can you do that without it?

Posted by: on June 11, 2003 07:10 AM

Entering the address of the swf file (always http://www.homestarrunner.com/sbemail**.swf) also allows for full screen viewing though.

Posted by: E on June 11, 2003 09:58 AM

No Name,

No one on this site needs to justify their positions: these are opinions, not arguments. If you don't agree, then either state yours or move along. Ad hominum attacks don't win you any points.

And Jan, I'm sorry to hear about your sucky sight.

I'm going to eat worms and baby animals now.

Posted by: Mickey knox on June 11, 2003 10:14 AM

Sadly, I had my eyes pecked out by a pair of woodpeckers when I was only three years old, rendering my sight sucky.

I am so ashamed that an anonymous poster thinks we have lost our credibility. We're ALL about credibility and serious arguments after all.

Posted by: Jan on June 11, 2003 12:25 PM

i just don't get why you hate it so much, you didn't really present a coherent opinion, much less a coherent argument.

Posted by: kjones on June 11, 2003 08:23 PM

You're missing the point, kjones. It doesn't matter! We don't like it, for various reasons, and chose not to present our arguments, since it's much easier (and more fun) to insult it randomly!

Posted by: Jan on June 11, 2003 10:02 PM

Ooooh, was there actually a time when we had credibility?

I must have missed that particular second.

Posted by: naomi on June 11, 2003 10:09 PM

And I just have to say that Mickey knox is my new favorite sex symbol. Woo woo!

Posted by: naomi on June 11, 2003 10:10 PM

I disagree with Mickey knox in that ad hominum attacks don?t win you any points. Ad hominum attacks do win you points! I can prove it. Watch...

Hey aussie boy...are you listening? You are such a scum sucking contortionist seeking political asylum in the back end of broken toilet that overflows with putrid thoughts of your overrated childhood as an extinct beer sucking round worm with a hyper active ego that simply won't fit in that puny head called your rear end butt sometimes doubles as wheel jack for a pickup truck that is so full of rust that everybody recognizes your pee stains next to the place where you fill your home brewed beer bottles with that musty scent called the breath of your stupidity, if you know what I mean.

How many points did I win?

Posted by: Norm O. Tidwell on June 12, 2003 01:43 AM

Is it just me, or was the above comment really stupid?

Posted by: Goatse on June 15, 2003 07:18 PM

Dear bobo,
I was wondering what the URL to your, far superior to homestarrunner.com, site is called. I would love to check it out some time; If I ever get finished looking at all the porn on the internet (which is on computers now). For the record, I only watched Full House through the first four seasons. After that, I found it disconcerting the way they continued to allow Mary-Kate to bring Ashleigh down. Anywho, go easy on the wine coolers and maybe you should consider getting insurance for your cottage. I'd hate to read in the paper that bobo got burninated.

Crapfully yours,

But... how did you type all that so fast with boxing gloves on your hands?

Posted by: E on June 16, 2003 03:20 PM

these are opinions, not arguments. That is the problem of this trash site

Posted by: on June 19, 2003 06:28 PM

I can't seem to use the program. What/how do you use it?

Posted by: JEREMY on October 5, 2003 11:59 AM

I am strong bad so stop with the shit okay, blah blagr

Posted by: Frank on October 16, 2003 03:43 PM
